1. School Bell rings at 9.20a.m. Lunch is from 12.30p.m.
to 1.00p.m.
Infants finish at 2.00p.m. All other classes
finish at 3.00p.m.
2. Children may not leave the grounds at any time
without permission. Children who wish to leave before 3.00p.m. must
furnish to their class teacher a note from parent/guardian.
3. Those who go home for lunch must have the necessary
official form signed by parent/guardian.
4. On returning after a period of absence a child
must produce a note stating the reason for that
absence. (An oral communication from parent/guardian to teacher will
suffice instead of a note).
5. The Board of Management does not accept responsibility
for the children's property.
6.Children should have their names on their coats
and other personal property such as school books, copies, lunch boxes,
etc.
Nourishing Lunches
Surveys have shown that children's lunches are often
very unhealthy and not adequate nutritionally because they tend to be
low in fibre and high in sugar. Please do not give your child sweets,
chocolate, fizzy drinks or crisps for lunch. Lunch should provide one
third of your child's food requirements for the day. The most effective
way to plan a healthy lunch is to include one food from each of the
food groups - one piece of fruit, milk/yoghurt, two slices of bread
and meat / poultry /cheese.
Chewing gum is not allowed in the school.
