Prospectus 2009-2010

1. School Bell rings at 9.20a.m. Lunch is from 12.30p.m. to 1.00p.m.
Infants finish at 2.00p.m. All other classes finish at 3.00p.m.

2. Children may not leave the grounds at any time without permission. Children who wish to leave before 3.00p.m. must furnish to their class teacher a note from parent/guardian.

3. Those who go home for lunch must have the necessary official form signed by parent/guardian.

4. On returning after a period of absence a child must produce a note stating the reason for that
absence. (An oral communication from parent/guardian to teacher will suffice instead of a note).

5. The Board of Management does not accept responsibility for the children's property.

6.Children should have their names on their coats and other personal property such as school books, copies, lunch boxes, etc.


Nourishing Lunches

Surveys have shown that children's lunches are often very unhealthy and not adequate nutritionally because they tend to be low in fibre and high in sugar. Please do not give your child sweets, chocolate, fizzy drinks or crisps for lunch. Lunch should provide one third of your child's food requirements for the day. The most effective way to plan a healthy lunch is to include one food from each of the food groups - one piece of fruit, milk/yoghurt, two slices of bread and meat / poultry /cheese.

Chewing gum is not allowed in the school.
