Boys Hurling Vs Connolly NS

Last Tuesday week our boys hurling team got back on track with a good win over Connolly. Crusheen started the game well with Jamie Fitzgibbon pointing. However Connolly came right back into it and the score was 2-1 to 1-4 at half-time with Conor O'Loughlin getting the goal. The second half served up a great game of hurling with the switch of Jamie Fitzgibbon to full forward paying dividends. Connolly tried hard but our lads held out for a good win. Colin Vaughan excelled in goals. Shane Loughrey, Gerry Roseingrave, Conor O'Loughlin, Rory Halpin, Anthony Rodgers and scorer in chief Jamie Fitzgibbon were to the fore in a great team performance.
On Tuesday the boys qualified for the semi final with a comprehensive victory over neighbours Barefield. Our boys started the game in great fashion with goals from Jamie Fitzgibbon and Luke Hayes and were well ahead at half time. In the second half Crusheen continued to pile on the pressure, a great point from Conor O'Loughlin and goals from Rory Halpin and Colin Vaughan sealed a great victory. There were other great performances from Mark Perrill, Colin Halpin, Gerry Roseingrave and Anthony Rodgers. The boys now go forward to the semi-final and if they can repeat this performance hopes of a victory are high.
Scorers: J. Fitzgibbon (5-1), C. O'Loughlin (0-1), R. Halpin (1-3), L. Hayes (1-0), C. Vaughan (1-1).
