Girls on top
Crusheen 3-3 Knockanean 1-1

The girls began their division 1 football campaign with a surprise win over Knockanean in Crusheen on Wednesday. Knockanean opened the scoring with a point. Aislinn Dillon replied with a point for us before we conceded an own goal. Aislinn replied with another point before half time and we had another after the break. Goals from Lisa Perrill, Lisa Loughrey and Aislinn Dillon put us comfortably ahead at the finish. Our goalie and defence were sound all through with Caitriona McGrath and Anne-Marie McMahon in particularly good form. Teresa Rosingrave and Amy Grassie battled hard at center-field.

Meeting

There was a fantastic turn out of parents/guardians at Wednesday's general meeting. The principal, Mr. Kearney gave a presentation on the New Curriculum. This was followed by a lively discussion on the school uniform. The meeting decided that the uniform should remain as it is. The final item on the agenda was the setting up of a new Parents' Association. Seven parents volunteered to act as a steering committee and they will gladly welcome others to join them. The steering committee members are as follows:- Marian Molony, Clora Mulligan, Orla Gleeson, Anne O'Brien, Charis Perry, Sharon Slattery and Bernie O'Brien

First Communion

Congratulations to Rebecca, Sarah, Domhnaill, Youen, Stephen and James who made their First Holy Communion on Sun. last. Great credit is due to all those people who worked so hard to make this an incredibly memorable occasion

Hurling

Conor O'Donnell (2-1), Brian Rodgers (1-0) and Donal Tuohy (0-1) were the scorers. We expected to be under pressure playing against the wind in the second half but we managed to stay in front.
