RACES
The Annual East Clare Primary Schools
Cross Country Races were held on Wednesday, 14th March, at the Lees
Road Amenity Centre, Ennis. Following trials these children represented
the school at the Under 8, Under 11 and Over 11 categories.

Under 8 Boys who came overall third in their group.
PARENTAL COURSE
Mary Carew, a guidance counsellor
who has been working with parents for over 12 years will run a four
week course on Monday nights from 7 p.m. to 9.30 p.m., at a venue to
be decided. Mary will discuss topics relevant to parents of children
between 9-13 years old. If interested in attending please phone the

HEALTHY EATING
Many thanks to Supervalue in Gort
for donating bananas and oranges to the children in the school as part
of our Healthy Eating Campaign. Thanks also to the parents and children
for their continued support of our healthy eating policy.
EASTER HOLIDAYS
The school will close for the Easter
Break on Friday, March 30th at 12:30 p.m. It will re-open on Monday,
16th April.
PARENTS`
SUPPORT GROUP
Clare Education Centre is interested
in setting up a support group for parents with children who have behavioural
difficulties in school. If interested please contact Dr. Kyran Kennedy

BURREN
LIFE PROJECT
Our school has been selected to
participate in the Heritage Education Programme of the Burren Life Project.
This is the first major farming for conservation project in Ireland.
On 18th April Mr. Tony Kirby from Burren Life will spend a half day
in school with 5th and 6th class and on 23rd April he will take them
on a field trip in Mullaghmore.
SWIMMING
Swimming classes at the Ennis Pool
Complex for 1st to 6th classes will run from Thursday, 19th April to
21st June making 10 classes in all. The cost per child is € 35
to be paid any time in the next few weeks. Children will be taken to
the pool by bus at 9.30 a.m. and return to the school at 11.30 a.m.
Each child must have a swim suit, towel and swim cap.
MINI SEVENS
Last Thursday week, 15th March
our boys competed in the Mini Sevens Hurling Competition held in Roslevan.
The boys played very well in both games, losing narrowly to Knockanean
in the first and scoring a comprehensive win over Barefield in the second.

FIRST PENANCE
On Wednesday, 28th March at 8 p.m.
in Crusheen Church the following pupils received the Sacrament of First
Penance: Gráinne Burke, Aislinn Mullins, Eleanor Leonard, Lucy
Riviere, Taylor Slattery, Gavin O`Brien, Nick Pyett, David McNamara,
Conor Cleary and Martin McMahon.
