SEVENS HURLING & FOOTBALL
The first round of the Boys' Football
Sevens was played in atrocious conditions on Thursday week last. Knockanean,
Killaloe, Kilkishen and ourselves battled it out for a place in the
next round. Despite the conditions there was some great football and
after each team had played every other team, Knockanean deservedly qualified
for the next stage. In our first game we lost to Knockanean by 1-7 to
0-3. Paraic O'Malley and Bryan McInerney were the scorers. We had an
easy win over Kilkishen in the next game, winning by 3-4 to 1-0. Paraic
scored 2-4 and Briain Dillon had a goal. In our last game we overcame
Killaloe by 3-0 to 1-1. Briain notched 2 goals and Paraic was again
on the scoresheet with a goal. All the boys played their hearts out
with Conor Hayes making several spectacular saves in goals.
Team: C.Hayes, E.Fogarty, J.Fitzgibbon, R.Moloney, B.Dillon, B.McInerney,

Roseingrave.
The Sevens Hurling,
first round, was played in the revamped Dr.Daly Park, Tulla on Thursday.
We played Tulla first and were behind by 1-3 to 0-1 at half time. Rea
Moloney scored the point. We fought back in the second half with a goal
from Ethan and another point from Rea. It wasn't enough however and
we lost by 1-4 to 1-2.
In our second game we had an easy win over Kilmurry. Conor Hayes (3-0)
and Bryan McInerney (2-1) were in great scoring form. Rea notched 1-1
to give us a final tally of 6-2 to nil. We had another easy win in the
third game, by 6-2 to 2-1, against Knockanean. Bryan McInerney (2-2),
Conor (2-0), Briain Dillon and Ethan (1-0) each, were our marksmen.
All in all it was a pleasant afternoon's hurling in very good conditions.
