Crusheen 1-5 Killaloe
1-4
Our Senior Hurling Team has qualified for the semi-final of Division
1. They defeated a fancied Killaloe team in very difficult weather
conditions. Our lads got a bad blow when the commanding Rory Halpin
had to go off with a broken finger, but they dug deep and held their
heads for a one point win. There were many heroes on the day with
the particularly impressive Briain Dillon in goals, Paraic O'Malley,
Jamie Fitzgibbon, Conor Hayes, Conor O'Loughlin and young goalscorer
Domhnaill Rodgers. Currently the team is in intense training for the
upcoming semi-final and had a challenge against Knockanean on Tue.

School
Tours
There was great
excitement on Friday May 20th, as the pupils departed on their annual
school tours. Pupils from junior infants to first class visited Moher
Farm in North Clare. The senior pupils, after our marathon journey
to Dublin last year, decided to stay closer to home and visit Seaworld
in Lahinch. Despite the inclement weather conditions we all had a
wonderful day.
Book Launch

On Friday last the
children in senior infants launched their book " All About Us."
We were very lucky to have well known author Kate Thompson on hand
to officially launch the book. All the children read their own individual
page from the book for the assembled parents and did a great job on
the day.
Confirmation
A big congratulations
to all our sixth class pupils who were confirmed on Sunday May 15th.
A special word of thanks to Fr.Bane, Mr.Kearney, Miss O'Keeffe, staff
members and all parents and sponsors who worked very hard to make
the day so special for the children.
SPECIAL
OLYMPICS

As part of their
Confirmation commitment, pupils in 6th class pledged to donate a percentage
of all monies received on the day to the Special Olympics. Last Tuesday
we were delighted to welcome Joe McGrath from Bodyke, who is a Special
Olympian, to our school. Joe thanked the children for their support
and generosity and also regaled them with stories from the Special
Olympics last summer. He was accompanied by Co. co-ordinator, Sinead
Carey.
Hanging
Baskets
Special thanks once
again to Marie Kennedy for sharing her horticultural talents with
us. Marie helped the children plant the hanging baskets at the front
of the school. We await the sun to bring them to their full bloom!
