CREDIT UNION QUIZ
CHAMPS
On Sunday last 2 Quiz
Teams from 3rd & 4th Class took part in the annual Credit Union
Table Quiz Competition at the Auburn Lodge. Heartiest congratulations
to the A Team who won the U/11 Section of the quiz and to the B Team
who finished a creditable fourth in the same section.
Quiz Winners (39 Points) - Lorcan Waters, (Capt.), Niamh Moloney, Emer
Varley & Kim Daffy.
4th Place (32 Points) - Jennifer Hansbury, (Capt.) Claire O'Brien, Sarah
O'Connor, & Eleanor Murray.
Thanks to all the parents who helped out with transport on the day.
The winners now move on to the next stage of the competition.
GIRLS' BASKETBALL
Third, fourth, fifth
and sixth class girls have been making great strides in basketball and
have played a series of games since before Christmas. They played a
blitz on Monday last. Sarah Cunningham's Team came out on top with Eilís
Cleary's Team taking the runner-up spot. Claire O'Brien was top-scorer
with 16 points; other scores - Siobhán McNamara 10, Nikola Makulová
6, Eilís Cleary and Sarah Cunningham 4 each and Jennifer Hansbury,
Lesley-Anne McMahon and Niamh Moloney 2 each.
HURLING
Recently 3rd and 4th
class boys competed in an indoor hurling tournament hosted by the Holy
Family School, Ennis. In the first game our boys were narrowly defeated
by Knockanean School, in the second game we defeated our neighbours
Clooney School, in a great game. In the final game, despite leading
at half time, our boys got pipped at the finish by eventual winners,
the Holy Family School. All our boys played with great heart and skill,
with Mark Perrill, Luke Hayes, Colin Halpin and scorer in chief Colin
Vaughan putting in superb displays. A great day was had by all.

Enrolment forms for children aged 3 upwards, who wish to attend playschool
are also available.
Kids
in Action
We have registered
for the Super Value Kids in Action Scheme. By collecting vouchers we
hope to get free sports equipment for the school. If you have these
vouchers please bring them in to Mr. O'Leary.
GREEN
FLAG PRESENTATION
We were delighted
to get confirmation from An Taisce on Wednesday that our International
Green Flag is to be renewed for the third time. Two pupils from the
Green School Committee, along with Miss Cleary, will travel to Dublin
on the 1st March to An Taisce Headquarters to receive the flag.
