Football All Star


Jason Greene will shortly receive a Clare Under-age Football All Star Award. He has been chosen from Division 2 of the Primary Schools League. Jason was chosen for some excellent high fielding and for the whole hearted, spirited approach that he displays in all his games. Comhghairdeas Jason.

PARISH PUMP FACELIFT

As part of our Green Schools Project we are attempting to give a facelift to the pump in the village, and its environs. The project involves cleaning and painting the pump and the area around it. We are trying to research the history and folklore of the pump and would be delighted to hear stories about it or information that is relevant. Here we see some sixth class pupils hard at work and enjoying it too.

CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE

On Thursday December 18th at 7 p.m. our pupils will assemble in Crusheen Church for a Christmas Carol Service that will include music, song and a retelling of the Christmas Story. Parents/guardians are asked to have the pupils in the church not later than 6.45 p.m. Pupils playing violin should be there by 6.30 p.m.
The dress code is as follows: 3rd to 6th Classes - School uniform; 1st to 2nd classes - Shepherds; Infants - White Angels; The entire programme should run for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. We would be delighted to see the church full for this occasion.

INSERVICE DAY

Pupils will not have school on Friday, Dec. 19th. On that day teachers will meet to review progress on the implementation of the New Curriculum in Maths., English and Visual Arts. The Dept. of Education and Science has decided to set aside three and a half days for school based Inservice in this school year.

CONFESSIONS

Fr. Bane will hear confessions for pupils from 3rd to 6th classes in the church on Wednesday morning next. Teachers will take the pupils to the church for a Carol Service practice at 9.20 a.m. and confessions will be heard after the practice at 10.45 a.m. approx.


DECORATION COMPETITION

Pupils are busy at the moment designing Christmas Tree Decorations using household rubbish.
Prizes will be awarded in each class. All entries will hang on our school Christmas Tree. Closing date for entries is Tuesday Dec. 9th.

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT

The new Board will have its first meeting on Thursday next, December 11th at 8 p.m. in the school.
