Crusheen 1 - 5 Inagh/Clounanaha
0 - 2
The boys played Inagh/Clounanaha in their first Division 1 Hurling
tie at the Crusheen G.A.A. grounds on Wednesday. The weather was ideal
for hurling and the two teams served up an excellent game. Jamie Fitzgibbon
opened the scoring with a point from a superbly struck 65m free and
a few minutes later added another point from a free from almost the
same distance. Brian Hehir pointed a free for Inagh/Clounanaha just
before the break, leaving us a point in front after a very even first
half. Scores were hard to come by in the second half also and ten
minutes elapsed before Conor O'Loughlin scored 2 points in quick succession
from play. Brian Hehir had Inagh/Clounanaha's second point shortly
after. Then with five minutes remaining Ethan O'Donnell collected
a Jamie Fitzgibbon free in front of the goal and drove a great shot
to the net. Ethan finished the scoring with a superb point from near
the sideline. Briain Dillon (goals), Rory Halpin (wing back), Bryan
McInerney (centre field) and Conor Hayes were also particularly good
in what was a great team effort.
