Félicitations
Heartiest congratulations
to Mrs. Bernadette Malone and the pupils in 5th and 6th classes on coming
first in the Vive La Chanson, compose a French Song Competition. Both
classes composed and performed songs in French and put them on video
tape. This competition was organised by MLPSI - The Modern Languages
in Primary Schools Initiative. Prizes included French DVDs and a Certificate.

Bishop's
Visit
Bishop Willie Walshe and the staff
and pupils of the school planted a tree in memory of the late Pope John
Paul 11. When he arrived Bishop Walshe was entertained by Miss O'Keeffe
and the school choir. He then visited all the classrooms and Playschool.
Before leaving he spent time chatting to the confirmation class.
Sport & Games
On Wednesday next at 1.00 p.m.
in Crusheen G.A.A. Pitch the school hurling team will take on Inagh-Clounanaha
in Div. 1 Hurling. At the same time our Girls Basketball Team will play
Inagh N.S. in the school yard court.
Talk
on Temperance
There will be a Talk on Temperance
for parents and candidates for Confirmation in the Imeall Boirne parishes
next Tuesday night, April 19th at 8 p.m. in Ruan Parish Hall (beside
the church). John Leahy will be the speaker on the night.
Confirmation Rite
The third and final Confirmation
Rite for our Confirmation Candidates was held last Sunday in the Parish
Church at 11.30 a.m. mass. Many thanks to all who contributed to making
these rites special for our children.

Obesity and Physical Exercise.
"ARE CLARE CHILDREN HEADING
FOR A CRISIS"
On Monday April 18th in the West County Hotel, Ennis, at 8 p.m., a panel
of speakers, including Jamsie O'Connor will present an information evening
on obesity and exercise. This evening will be of interest to parents
and all concerned with the heath and physical needs of children and
teenagers. The talk is organised by The Clare National Parents Council
along with the Health Service Executive. Admission E5.00 (optional)
