Welcome to Crusheen N.S. web site. Ours is a 6 teacher rural school. Like any other school it has its own distinctive features. Hopefully, this web site will tell you who we are and what makes us just a little bit different.

Crusheen NS or Inchicronan Central NS, which is another name for it, was officially opened in 1979 and extended in 1994. That official opening completed the amalgamation of the 3 existing schools in our parish i.e. Ballinruan, Crusheen and Drumbonniv. Our current enrolment is 103.

Our school is in Crusheen village. Crusheen is situated roughly half between Ennis and Gort, on the N 18, between Limerick and Galway. When you arrive in the village from Ennis, take a right turn at Clarke's and proceed in the Tulla direction for about 400 metres. The school is on the left. Crusheen G.A.A. pitch and dressing rooms are across the road from us and Crusheen Community Centre is behind our school in a building that used to be the old Crusheen N.S. (built in 1884). We use these facilities quite a lot.

The population of Crusheen parish had dropped to 700 hundred persons approx. a few years ago. Housing development, in the village in particular, has led to a doubling of that population and further rapid growth is expected in the years to come.
